Stakeholder Dialogue 2022 Sustainable Region Competitiveness Index
Starting the year with a joint initiative to encourage the Sustainable Development Goals' achievement through the Regional Sustainable Competitiveness Index (IDSDB). IDSDB Stakeholder Dialogue was held on Thursday, January 13, with hosts being the Monitoring Committee for the Implementation of Regional Autonomy (KPPOD), Terra Komunika, and Kinara Indonesia. The dialogue aims to get views, input, and multi-stakeholder involvement. Representatives of ministries, institutions, associations, private sectors, academics, and development partners, attended the meeting.
Head of the SDGs National Secretariat Vivi Yulaswati whom attended the event as a resource person supported the IDSDB initiative. She reminds that in its implementation, the preparation of the index needs to consider several things, including the balance of economic competitiveness and environmental quality, the formation of metadata, inclusiveness, and the integration of index pillars into regional development plans.
The IDSDB consists of three main activities; index preparation, mainstreaming of sustainable narratives, and capacity building of local governments, particularly at the district level.
The results of the IDSDB conducted in 2020 show that the principle of sustainability has not been well adopted by local governments, as indicated by, among other things, the regional competitiveness in Indonesia, which is on average at a moderate level.
IDSDB 2021-2023 is improved by completing variables that can directly indicate the extent to which sustainable and low-carbon development principles are applied. It is expected to serve as a reference in national and regional development and for public and non-public incentives for regions that have been more advanced in their implementation.
